People in Manhattan got to see a fantastic Manhattanhenge sunset

New York’s iconic skyline glowed a gorgeous gold as Manhattanhenge saw the setting sun shine down its streets. Manhattanhenge sees the sun aligning precisely with Manhattan’s grid, illuminating every cross street. The majestic sight occurs twice a year over a two day period – the first of which was in May. Those who watched on Friday evening were treated to a stunning sunset that illuminated Manhattan’s streets. Saturday sees the second part of July’s solar phenomenon, where there will be a half-sun setting on the grid. On Friday, the spectacle drew crowds of snappers yesterday, bottom right, as the sun turned from yellow to pink in perfect alignment’s with New York’s grid system, seen left and top right.
